Thomas Jonsson – new developer

2021-10-14
Thomas Jonsson, .NET developer

Pony owner, ski bum and motorcyclist. Thomas Jonsson is the newest recruit at Opter and has lots of interests in addition to system development. He has quickly found his place in the team and is currently evaluating new technologies for future Opter solutions.

Thomas says he is looking forward to working with the latest .NET technologies and the amazing possibilities offered by the cloud. And of course to the occasional drink together with colleagues after work.

Hi Thomas! What has it been like starting a new job during a pandemic?
“It actually went very well and felt quite natural. Of course, the initial in-person meetings at the office were important for getting a good understanding of the company.”

What do you like doing in your spare time?
“Spending time with my family, travelling, riding my motorcycle and jogging. I also hang out at the stables quite a bit as my girls are crazy about horses and we have a pony called Humlan.”

Do you have any hidden talents?
“In my younger years I was a passionate skier and hung out in the Alps a lot.
Those skills are still there, but they’re probably a bit rusty now.”

Why do you think other people should apply to join Opter?
“Opter is an exciting and successful Swedish company with a good local presence. That’s nice as I used to work in global teams, so hanging out after work was difficult. I feel that at Opter we prioritize delivery and product quality, and that creates the right conditions for me to be able to do a good job.”

Would you also like to work at Opter? We are currently looking for skilled .NET developers who want to be involved in developing the Nordic region’s leading transport planning software. More information is available at Come and join us.
