The entrepreneur Timo Fågel has led Kuljetuspalvelu Fågel for 20 years. He has managed the family-owned company, which was founded in 1966, with a long-term perspective focusing on providing stable and well-functioning transport services.

The company is based in Päijänne-Tavastland and performs transport assignments right across southern Finland. The business currently employs 95 people and has nearly 60 vehicles, ranging from vans to lorries and articulated vehicles.

“We chose Opter because it was the solution that was most cost-effective and easy to use. In addition, we knew that several of our partners were already using it and we had heard about their positive experiences.”

Timo Fågel says that, since being implemented, the TMS system has helped streamline invoicing, reduce manual work and minimise the need for non-digital freight bills. Assignments are sent straight to the drivers’ mobile devices and the company gets a better overview via the system’s reporting functions. Collaboration with customers and subcontractors is also facilitated due to the functions for communication and automatic pricing.

“With Opter, we can continue to grow without having to increase our internal resources,” says Timo Fågel, who adds that the system has become a concrete tool in the company’s daily work and its long-term development.
