“Opter is a real driving force behind our development.”

Sandahls is one of Sweden’s largest privately owned haulage companies, with origins in Småland and around 500 lorries in its fleet. Having operations in 13 locations provides economies of scale, but also involves high demands in terms of the use of common procedures and systems.

In Vårgårda, Sandahls operates a specialised transport and warehouse business with 125 employees and 60 vehicles. Its recurring assignments include deliveries of, for example, kitchens, fragile and sensitive goods with complex logistics requirements and high demands in terms of timing.

After previously using a different system, Sandahls Vårgårda switched to Opter as its TMS in 2025. “Sandahls Logistik had already been using Opter for five years,” says Anders Litstrand, Site Manager in Vårgårda. “By making this switch, we now finally have a common environment in which to work. We see the same things as our colleagues, and can utilise all our resources more efficiently. This has had an immediate impact.”

The decision to change the transport management system also came about as a result of increased customer demands regarding transparency, including better monitoring, access to emissions data and the ability to track shipments in real time. With Opter’s customer web, customers get greater transparency, without increasing the administrative burden on the organisation.

The deployment of Opter was carried out with minimal customer impact and without any major disruptions to deliveries, and Sandahls sees great opportunities going forwards. “Opter is a real driving force behind the development of the business. Instead of building new features to accommodate the way we currently work, we want to explore what is already available in the system and how it can help us work in an even smarter way,” says Anders Litstrand.
