One of Opter’s first customers in Norway was LoadMaster AS, based in Lillestrøm. The company has 16 employees. LoadMaster has a few of its own vehicles that it routes, but it mainly uses Opter to book transports for its subcontractors. It’s CEO Are Elgåen says that Opter was chosen because it is 100% scalable, and has functionality that can match any other major system on the market.

It is possible to start using Opter with just the basic parts of the system, but everything is there, according to Are, who has extensive experience with Opter. All customers have the same possibilities and functions. It works for everything from a small delivery company with three vehicles and upwards. With automation, both LoadMaster and its subcontractors have been able to shift their focus from administration to quality and monitoring.
“In a low-margin industry, only higher volumes can generate higher profits,” says Are Elgåen. “And increased volumes can be achieved by improving our efficiency. The actual transportation always costs what it costs.”
