Posti’s logistics solutions and fleet services in Sweden include everything from long-distance and secure transport to the delivery of sensitive IT equipment. The business has been using Opter for more than ten years.

This choice of solution was made at an early stage and has proven itself ever since, with it now serving as a central TMS for tasks such as communication with drivers and partners, bookings made via the customer web, and API integrations that reduce the need for manual administration.

Posti’s Operations Manager Johan Olsson was immediately impressed by the simplicity of K2, which the system was called at that time. It was also cost-effective, very comprehensive for a small company with two vehicles, and has been easy to scale up to manage the current 13 own vehicles and several subcontractors.

“It is so user-friendly that, if necessary, I could do everything from dispatch to invoicing myself.”

Three years ago, the company migrated the entire setup from its own server to the Opter Cloud. Johan Olsson describes the transition as basically completely seamless. After logging out one afternoon, everything was up and running by the next morning. By running Opter in the cloud, the company avoids having any in-house technical issues, a need for VPN, and operational responsibility. Users can also log in from anywhere.

“The availability and certainty of always being able to access the system are really appreciated. I have been able to carry out invoicing from the Stockholm archipelago and worked with the system remotely from Thailand. It always works.”

Opter also makes it easy to comply with customer requirements regarding information and transparency. Customers can choose the notifications they want to receive, and for reports it is easy to produce customised and detailed documentation.

“If a customer needs a certain document, they get it. I hardly ever get questions about invoices any more,” says Johan Olsson, who concludes: “But Opter can offer even more than we are currently utilising. In the future, I hope we can use even more of the system’s features, because it really simplifies our everyday work!”
